What is KCCD


KCCD was formed on November 3,1960 as a statewide organization representing professionals in the adult corrections, . . . The nature of the corporate organization, its powers, and the objectives and purposes to be promoted or engaged in shall be:

1. To improve standards, procedures, operations, and services in fields relating to the prevention of crime and delinquency.

2. To encourage research and serve as a sponsoring agency for research.

3. To promote wide citizen interest in corrections and prevention fields.

4. To promote and encourage effective cooperation among the various agencies in the correctional cycle.

5. To encourage the development of resources within the state to provide adjunct services to offenders.

6. To encourage cooperation with other regional and national correctional associations

 

Local Chapters throughout the state work in community service projects, which has heightened awareness of relevant contemporary issues and places them in unique position to promote both regional and statewide
