President-Elect:
RAY CANTERBERRY: Ray began his career as a Correctional
Officer on February 1994 at Northpoint Training Center. While at
Northpoint he was promoted to Classification and Treatment Officer in
December 1994. Ray then moved to the Department’s Division of Probation
and Parole in January 2001, where he served as both an institutional
parole officer and a field officer. In August 2007 he was promoted to
Assistant District Supervisor for District 6 and then in April 2010 he was
promoted to his current position of District 14 Supervisor. Ray is very
active with KCCD serving both the Herrington Lake Chapter as a member, and
as an elected member of the Executive Board. He served the Executive Board
as a Probation and Parole liaison for two previous years before being
elected. Ray has chaired or assisted the door prize committee, hospitality
committee, silent auction, golf committee, and numerous volunteer
activities.
ALICIA BLOYD: Alicia is the current Administrative Section
Supervisor with the Kentucky State Reformatory. Her career with the
Kentucky Department of Corrections began in 1998 as a Corrections Officer
at KSR. She was then promoted to Sergeant, Classification and Treatment
Officer, Correctional Unit Administrator I and II. In between those
advances, Alicia also was assigned KSR’s Pre-release Coordinator handling
all the current duties of the institutions Re-Entry Coordinators. Alicia
was also active on the Hostage Negotiation Team, participated in the
Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts on behalf of DOC and was awarded the 2010
Balderson Award which is a National Award for a project in the Public
Health Field with the ‘How Healthy Can You Go?’ video that is currently
being used state-wide in the Re-Entry Programs. Alicia has been an active
member of Kentucky Council of Crime and Delinquency since 2008 and an
active member of ACA since 2009. Alicia also passed the ACA Certified
Corrections Manager exam in 2010.
Secretary:
DeEDRA HART: DeEdra began her career with the Department of Corrections at
the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex in 1995 as a Correctional
Officer. She has also held the positions of Classification Treatment
Officer I & II, Unit Administrator I, Unit Administrator II and Probation
and Parole Officer I in District 13 Owensboro Office. She is currently the
Offender Information Supervisor at WKCC. She has a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science from Murray State
University. She is the recipient of the 2004 Commissioner’s Achievement
Award and a 2006 graduate of the Commissioner’s Executive Leadership
Program. Along with being a member of SSCA, she has been a member of KCCD
since 2000, has served three (3) terms as Chapter President for the Four
Rivers Chapter, six (6) terms as Secretary for the KCCD Executive Board,
and was a 2005 and 2007 recipient of the Mary Frances Cooper Award.
Treasurer:
JAMES B. SWEATT: Sweatt began his career with the Kentucky
Department of Corrections in 1975 as a Corrections Officer at the Kentucky
State Reformatory. In 1980 he promoted to a Lieutenant at Luther Luckett
Correctional Complex. Sweatt continued to work his way through the ranks
and is the current Warden at Roederer Correctional Complex in LaGrange,
Kentucky—and has served in that position for 8 years. Sweatt has been an
active member with the Kentucky Council on Crime and Delinquency (KCCD)
for over 30 years. He has served as President and Treasurer of the KCCD
Louisville Chapter and is also a past member of the State Board of
Directors. Sweatt is an active member of the Southern States Correctional
Association. He was chairperson for the Hospitality Committee for the
1998, 2004, and 2007 for the Southern States Correctional Association
Conferences held in Louisville. He was elected to the position of State
Representative for Kentucky until July 2004. Sweatt has served as the
Treasurer for the KCCD Executive Board since he was elected in 2009.
Board of Directors:
DAVID BRADLEY: David began his career with the KY Department
of Corrections on May 1, 2005, as a Classification & Treatment Officer at
the Little Sandy Correctional Complex in Sandy Hook, KY. In addition to
his duties as CTO, Bradley was selected to become the KOMS Trainer for
LSCC. Bradley assisted with training over 1000 staff members on KOMS in
the Eastern Region. Bradley received the LSCC Employee of the Month award
in May 2006. On October 1, 2007, Bradley laterally transferred to Eastern
KY Correctional Complex in West Liberty, KY, as Classification & Treatment
Officer. Bradley assumed the same duties again as KOMS Trainer for EKCC.
In May 2008, Bradley was selected as EKCC Employee of the Month. Bradley
laterally transferred once more on June 15, 2010, to the position of
Network Analyst at EKCC, which is his current position in the department.
Bradley is a current participant in the 2010 Commissioner’s Executive
Leadership Development Program. Bradley is currently President of the Cave
Run Chapter KCCD. Bradley is also a member of the Southern States
Correctional Association. Bradley is a current member of the West Liberty
Kiwanis Club, and has served as Vice President of the club. Bradley was
recently selected as the EKCC Chairman of the Kentucky Employee’s
Charitable Campaign. Bradley graduated with his Bachelor’s degree from
Morehead State University, and is active with the MSU Alumni Association.
Bradley resides in West Liberty with his wife, Reanna, and his three year
old daughter, Zoe.
ALLISON R. BROWN: Allison is currently an attorney for the
Department of Corrections where she has worked since 2009. Allison has
been an active member of KCCD since she began working for Corrections. She
is the current Secretary of the KCCD Capital Chapter and also serves as
the legal advisor for the KCCD State Board of Directors.
NICK DAILY: Nick began his career in Corrections in 1999 as
a Medical Records Clerk at the Kentucky State Reformatory (KSR). In 2001
he was hired as a Network Analysis I, and in 2003 he was promoted to the
position of Network Analyst II. In 2005 he transferred to the Roederer
Correctional Complex to manage the I.T. Department. Nick is currently the
head of the I.T. Department at the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex. He
is well known as being the friend of any employee who is having computer
troubles. In 2003 Nick Daily was awarded the Department of Corrections
Commissioner’s Award
As a member of the Louisville Chapter of KCCD, he has been very involved
in the activities of his local chapter and his desire and dedication to
KCCD’s mission that led him to assist in anyway asked of him, along with
developing the KCCD state website to showcase the charitable activities
KCCD has done for its “corrections family” and for the community-at-large.
Nick has served as the Louisville chapters President for 2010-2011.
KEVIN HAYES: Kevin has been a member of KCCD since 2007. He
started his career at KSP in January 2007 as a Corrections Officer,
promoted in January 2008 to Classification Treatment Officer. In July 2009
Hayes was again promoted to Corrections Unit Administrator I at LLCC.
Since coming to Corrections, he has been a member of CERT, assisted as
Grievance Coordinator and been a member of various Institutional
Committees. Kevin is currently the LS-CMI coordinator, chairing the smoke
free initiative at LLCC and was the staff sponsor of Shakespeare Behind
Bars. He is certified as a Certified Corrections Supervisor (CCS) through
ACA and is an ACA proctor for exams as well as assisting in mock audits.
He is part of the committee for the Louisville KCCD scholarship fund.
Kevin is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle
Scout, Church, TKE Fraternity. Kevin recently married and resides in
Shelbyville with his wife Terri and there only child Dexter the Dog.
DALE HAZELWOOD: Dale began his career with the Department of
Corrections in 1998 as a Correctional Officer at the Kentucky State
Reformatory. In 2000 he was promoted at the Roederer Correctional Complex
and has since held the positions of Diesel Mechanic, Outside Landscape
Supervisor, and currently as Institutional Training Coordinator. Dale was
honored as RCC’s Operations Employee of the Year in 2008.
Dale has been a member of the Kentucky Council on Crime and Delinquency (KCCD)
since 2000. He has always been known for his willingness to go above and
beyond whatever may be needed for the organization. In 2009 Dale was
honored at the KCCD Annual Conference with an Institutional Achievement
Award. In 2010, Dale was elected to the KCCD State Board of Directors
where he has served as the Programs Committee Chair.
LEIGH JENT: Leigh began her career with the Commonwealth of
Kentucky in 1999 as the Alternative Sentencing Coordinator for the
Commonwealth Attorney’s office for the 56th Judicial Circuit. In 2009 she
transferred from the Commonwealth Attorney’s office to the Western
Kentucky Correctional Complex as the Administrative Secretary. In 2010 she
was promoted to the position of Human Resource Specialist II. Leigh served
as the March of Dimes Coordinator for Western Kentucky Correctional
Complex in 2010. She was recognized in 2010 with the Department of
Corrections Award. Leigh is currently the Secretary for the Four Rivers
Chapter of KCCD and is also the Chairperson for the live/silent auction
for the 2011 KCCD Conference.
BETH MOORE: Beth Moore started her career in corrections
with CCA at Marion Adjustment Center. She then transitioned to KY DOC in
2004 starting as a Correctional Officer at Northpoint Training Center and
was promoted to CTO in January 2005. Then in August of 2007 was promoted
to CTO II at FCDC and was recently promoted to System Analyst II in
Central Office IT Department. Beth Moore has been a member of KCCD since
2005. She was the Herrington Lake President in 2006-2007 and was awarded
the Key Chapter Award. She was KCCD state president in 2009-2010. Over the
past year she assisted with EKU Student Chapter of KCCD as an advisor.
TOM MUGAVIN: Tom has been a member of KCCD since 1972 and
has served on the Executive Board. He has been a local chapter President
as well as President of KCCD during the push and passing of Hazardous Duty
Retirement benefits for institutional personnel. While working in
corrections for over 32 years he has served in various positions at four
different facilities to include: KSR, BCC, NTC, and LLCC. He retired from
the Department of Corrections as Deputy Warden at KSR in 2004 and works
part-time for Prodigal Ministries, Inc. He has for several years chaired
the Exhibit Committee for the annual conference. He obtained a B.A. from
Bellarmine College and a M.S. in Corrections from Xavier University. Tom
is married to Mary Jo and has three adult children: Matt, Claire, and
Mark. He continues to referee soccer and lacrosse. Presently Tom is a
member of the Louisville Chapter.
GARY PRESTIGIACOMO: Gary began his career with the Kentucky
Department of Corrections in 1980 as a Correctional Officer and he is
currently the interim Deputy Warden/Operations at the Northpoint Training
Center. Gary served as Deputy Warden at the Frankfort Career Development
Center until that facility was closed on June 30, 2011. With 21 years
experience in Kentucky Corrections, Gary has served the Department in many
capacities including Correctional Officer, Correctional Industries
Production Supervisor, Sergeant, Internal Affairs, Lieutenant,
Administrative Specialist III, Accreditation Manager, Litigation
Coordinator, Institutional Public Information Officer and Unit
Administrator II. Gary is the immediate past-president of the Louisville
KCCD Chapter and he currently serves on the KCCD Executive Board and is
the KCCD Hospitality Room Committee chairman.
TIM SETTLES: Tim has been a member of KCCD since 1995. He is
currently a Board of Director and was the State President in 2005. He has
served as president of the Lake Herrington Chapter and has been on the
Board of Directors for the past 13 years. He has been Chairperson of the
Golf Tournament for 11 years and has served in various other committees
while serving on the Board.
JAMIE STRANG: Jamie is currently a Classification and
Treatment Officer at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women; she
previously worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Deputy Warden of
Programs. Prior to her career in Corrections she worked with several
non-profits both as an employee and volunteer. She was responsible for
planning and publicizing many fundraising and educational events. She also
managed a major website redesign. Jamie has been an active member of KCCD
Louisville Chapter since coming to corrections in 2009 as well as a member
of Southern States Correctional Association. Jamie believes her experience
in fundraising, event planning, and educational program development would
be an asset to the KCCD State Board.
