Aiden's Angels

Some may not be aware that LLCC's Shauna Markham’s 3 ½ year old son, Aiden, will be undergoing surgery at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He has a condition called Chiari I Malformation. They are basically going in to relieve the pressure on his brain by performing a Craniotomy. They will shave/cut off part of his skull at the occipital bone, as well as take off part of his first vertebrate. Within the surgery, they will do an ultrasound to see if that relieves the pressure on the brain. If not, they will then cut the lining that covers his brain, and patch it, to allow more room for the brain to expand.

Bill and Jan Markham’s Gift World will donate 80% of all sales to “Aiden’s Angels” between now and July 22nd to help Aiden’s parents, with expenses for his upcoming surgery and recovery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. You can also order online at: jansbathbody.vpweb.com

Luther Luckett hosted a bake sale on June 22 and will have a breakfast on July 19 and will be accepting monetary donations. Proceeds will go directly to Aiden’s parents for use during their travel and stay.

Louisville KCCD's 2009 Halloween Party at St. Joseph Orphanage

KCCD & MADD 2009 Softball Game

I would like to thank everyone that came out to the  Pancake Breakfast at Applebee’s in LaGrange.  The profits from this event will help the Louisville Chapter with all the work they do for the community such as the Halloween Party for the St. Joseph Children’s Home, the Red Cross Christmas Food drive and the Angel Tree.
Thank you, Nick Daily
Louisville Chapter President

In 2010 the Louisville Chapter collected canned and dry goods for 19 Correctional and Dismas employees families who had requested assistance. As well as purchasing Christmas gifts for two children from the Angel tree.

We also had our annual Halloween party for the St. Joseph Children's Home. Again we'd like to thank everyone that participated. The children had a great time, and it was very rewarding to see the pleasure the kids get from this event.

On Friday, October 29, 2010 the Louisville Chapter had the honor to volunteer and help out at the 2010 Extreme Makeover Home edition. This time around Extreme Makeover Home was helping the Lampe family of 8. Our members showed up early on a crisp Friday morning to help get the work site ready for the family to come home to their newly rebuilt house. It didn’t take long for the work to begin as there was still quite a bit of work left to do. We started by assisting with multiple tasks from cleaning up the site, moving barricade fences, and bring the families personal belonging back into the home, while still having time to assist an elderly couple that lived next door with a couple minor repairs to the exterior of their home. All our volunteers were more than willing to do any task that was asked of them. We truly enjoyed the day and were pleased to lend a hand for a great cause. We were even able to get a sneak peek of the inside of this beautiful home; It should air some time in early 2011
